Owner of Singing Tree LLC and the inventor of the Singing Tree Rope Wrench and Rope Runner, Kevin Bingham was invited to lead a day-long workshop in Mie, Japan. The location for the workshop was idyllic, under the canopy of a 1500 year-old camphor tree, and on the shore of the ocean. The Wooden Hand, a tree centric organization, run by Paul Poynter, hosted a week of informative workshops which concentrated on climbing, physics, and the essence of movement. Kevin’s workshop was an integral component of the workshop focusing on “Movement Through Trees”. The format of the workshop was unique with much emphasis placed on participation and experimentation with bodies, equipment and trees. Kevin is thankful for the experience and enjoyed traveling to Japan.
